Enquête démographique à Bukavu, menée en juillet/août 2014 dans le cadre de GeoRisCA, en collaboration avec l'Institut Supérieur Pédagogique de Bukavu (ISP, département de géographie) et l'Institut National de Statistiques (INS).

On 1st and 5th July 2014, helicopter flights over Nyiragongo and Nyamulagira volcanoes were realized, in order to monitor their eruptive activity. During these flights, geocoded optical images were acquired using a DSLR camera, in order to develop 3D models of parts of the volcanic edifices using close-range photogrammetric techniques. The present images show the preliminary results of this 3D modeling for Nyiragongo volcano. The calculated 3D point cloud allowed the measurement of the lava lake elevation. On 5th July 2014, the lava lake was 2967 ± 8 m a.s.l., i.e. 65 to 80 m below the lower platform (P3) that surrounds it.
Les 1 et 5 juillet 2014, les volcans Nyiragongo et Nyamulagira furent survolés en hélicoptère, dans le but de surveiller leur activité éruptive. Lors de ces vols, des photographies géocodées furent capturées avec un appareil photo reflex, afin de réaliser des modèles 3D d'une partie de ces volcans à l'aide de techniques de photogrammétrie. Les figures présentées ici montrent les résultats préliminaires de cette modélisation 3D sur le Nyiragongo. Le nuage de points 3D calculé permet de mesurer le niveau du lac de lave. Le 5 juillet, le lac de lave était situé à une altitude de 2967 ± 8 m, soit 65 à 80 mètres sous la plateforme inférieure (P3) qui le délimite.
3D perspective view of the Virunga Volcanic Province, located between D.R. Congo and Rwanda. During the project, we used TanDEM-X radar interferometry to calculate a collection of high-resolution Digital Elevation Model (5 meters). Topographic data obtained here are 18 times better in term of resolution than those delivered by the NASA during the SRTM mission.
Vue en 3D de la Province Volcanique des Virunga, située entre la R.D.C et le Rwanda. Pendant le projet, nous avons utilisé l’interférométrie radar TanDEM-X pour calculer des modèles numériques de terrain (MNT) d’une résolution de 5 mètres. Les données topographiques obtenues ici sont 18 fois meilleures en terme de résolution que le celles distribuées par la NASA lors de la mission SRTM.
